Several homes were damaged, and at least two people were injured. The icy conditions added additional challenges for firefighters. The first fire was reported just after 2:00 a.m. on the 2000 block of North 8th Street in North Philadelphia.He was taken to a nearby hospital and is being treated for burns. In West Philadelphia, firefighters responded to a rowhome fire just after 3 a.m. on the 300 block of South 52nd Street.The fire spread quickly, damaging at least four houses. Officials say one structure partially collapsed as conditions deteriorated. A second alarm was struck just before 4:00 a.m. after the fire extended to another home on the 5100 block of Delancey Street.While firefighters were working the 52nd Street blaze, another fire was reported around 3:40 a.m. on the 5100 block of Hazel Avenue, just blocks away.At least one woman was transported to a nearby hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.Officials have not yet released the cause of the three fires and the conditions of those injured is unknown.
