Wedding, who was a fugitive on the FBI's 10 "Most Wanted" list, is accused of running a criminal enterprise that has smuggled six metric tons of cocaine a year into Los Angeles via semitrucks from Mexico.
FBI Director Kash Patel has described Wedding as a "modern-day iteration of Pablo Escobar" or "El Chapo" Guzman. Patel is scheduled to speak at a press conference in Ontario at 8 a.m. Friday to announce a development in a "major ongoing investigation." Top law enforcement officials in the U.S. had put a $15 million bounty on Wedding's head, saying he has also orchestrated murders. They say Wedding and his crew are responsible for moving billions of dollars worth of cocaine and other narcotics from Mexico to Southern California.Ryan Wedding, a former Olympic snowboarder accused of running a drug trafficking network, is facing additional charges in connection with the killing of a federal witness. Wedding also allegedly ordered the killing of a witness who was set to testify against him in a federal drug trafficking case.as part of their ongoing manhunt.
