The first significant storm of the season is moving into the Bay Area, bringing rain, wind and possible thunderstorms to the area.The Flash Flood Warning in Napa County has been extended to 5 p.m., the National Weather Service said.
The heaviest rain is expected from the middle of the afternoon and into the evening commute. At about 1 p.m., cities like Oakland, San Mateo and Half Moon Bay will see lighter rain. The East Bay will see heavier rain by 3 p.m. and by 4 p.m., in the middle of the commute and it won't exit until around 7 p.m. or 8 p.m.Rain showers will continue into Tuesday morning. This will be a Level 1 system with less than .10 inches of rain expected.This goes into effect for Lake Tahoe from 11 a.m. Monday to 11 a.m. Wednesday. There will be heavy snow above 5,000 feet with 6-12" of snowfall expected, with 1-2 feet along the Sierra crest and 1-3 inches at lake level.
