Gov. Mike DeWine is attending the opening of Sherwin-Williams’ new downtown Cleveland headquarters Monday afternoon.
According to the governor’s office, the company was founded in Cleveland in 1866, and this year marks the company’s 160th anniversary.
“Sherwin-Williams has called Northeast Ohio home for 160 years, and today is a celebration of their longtime commitment to Ohio,” said Governor DeWine in a release. “The new, state-of-the-art headquarters will continue to attract talent to Ohio, encourage our best and brightest students to stay in Ohio after graduation, and drive future development in Cleveland.
” JobsOhio committed $37.5 million for the new one-million-square-foot campus, the governor’s office said, which includes a two-story welcome center pavilion, a 36-story office tower, and an attached multi-level parking garage. Sherwin Williams also completed the Global Research and Development Center in Brecksville, Ohio as part of the company’s Building Our Future project.
