Zayn Malik has partnered with the mobile developer to unveil the match-3 puzzle adventure.
Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells,Licensed by Warner Bros. Interactive and published under its Portkey Games label, the game invites players into the magic of J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter as they follow his journey through the wizarding world. Along the way, there will be colorful puzzles to solve, iconic narrative arcs on the Hogwarts Express, appearances from Hagrid's magical creatures and familiar characters, such as Hermoine, performing powerful spells.
Players gain experience points and earn new spells as they progress through the game and complete daily events that reference popular moments from the original story. The game will also feature the soundtrack and voiceover recordings from the film series. Bernard Kim, president of publishing at Zynga, said,"Mobile games have never been more popular or more important to people than they are right now. People are playing games for entertainment, relaxation and as an accessible source of comfort and connection. Withfans will immerse themselves in the magic, puzzles and wonder of the series and create Clubs to collaborate and connect with others fans of the Wizarding World.
Zynga has partnered with musician Zayn Malik for the launch. Malik, who was given early access to the game, shared in a statement,"It's a bit different to normal puzzle games, there's all kinds of different things popping up at you at different times. You get to pick which wand you want as well, which I always thought was really cool."
