In the ruling, the Apex court found that the department’s appeal bore no reasonable prospect of success. Casac executive secretary, Lawson Naidoo says, “The decision as to what happens now to Mr Zuma is effectively remitted to the new acting commissioner to determine in accordance with the Correctional Services Act, whether or not Mr Zuma is eligible for parole on other grounds.”According to the Jacob Zuma Foundation, the former president is currently receiving medical treatment in Russia and it is unclear when he will return to South Africa.due to the hatred he was facing in South Africa.
