Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Friday described his company's experience with the Biden administration's push to censor COVID 19-related content.

FILE - Mark Zuckerberg talks about the Orion AR glasses during the Meta Connect conference on Sept. 25, 2024, in Menlo Park, Calif.

"In 2021, senior officials from the Biden administration, including the White House, repeatedly pressured our teams for months to censor certain COVID-19 content, including humor and satire, and expressed a lot of frustration with our teams when we didn’t agree,” Zuckerberg wrote in a letter to House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio. “I believe the pressure was wrong, and I regret that we were not more outspoken about it.

"While they're trying to push that program, they also tried to censor anyone who is basically arguing against it,” he said. “They pushed us super hard to take down things that were honestly true.”
