Sen. Migz Zubiri agrees PhilHealth President Ricardo Morales should take a leave of absence but stressed other officials invited to the senate hearing should not be excused from testifying in the PhilHealth probe.
Zubiri said Morales has valid reasons to heed his doctors advise to take a leave of absence since he is undergoing treatment for lymphoma.
“Sa ganun, pwede nating maimbestigahan ng maayos ang mga opisyal na ito at masuspend po silang lahat ,” the senator added. According to Morales, his doctor has advised him to take a leave due to lymphoma as he is undergoing chemotherapy. De Jesus, on the other hand, notified the Senate leadership he cannot attend due to an “unforeseen medical emergency.”
Zubiri agrees, saying the Senate’s investigation on the various corruption issues in PhilHealth should continue regardless of President Duterte’s directive creating a task force that would look into the issue.
