The biggest animated movie of 2025 is finally hopping its way into your living room for your next movie night. News broke today that Disney’s box office-dominating smash hit, Zootopia 2, is officially slated for an arrival on digital platforms on January 27.
If you’re more of a physical collector, the record-breaking sequel will dash onto 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on March 3. At this time, streaming details haven’t been released, but we’d expect to see the production make its way onto Disney+ sometime in the approaching months. The big reveal comes just two months after the page was turned on the next chapter of the story about the best pair of law enforcement officials in the biz — Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde — who brought their A-game to their beloved city to solve the biggest caper of their careers. When audiences first met Nick and Judy a full decade ago in Zootopia, they were an unlikely duo who were thrown together to solve a major mystery plaguing the good folks of the titular city. After cracking the case and seeing that justice was done, the pair settled into working alongside one another as two of the top officers in the squad. However, just when they thought all the excitement was behind them, the partners are thrown back into the intrigue, mess, and chaos of crime when a snake’s arrival in Zootopia flips the city on its head. In addition to the film, which recently nabbed an Academy Award nomination, those who purchase the digital copy or wait for the physical presses to roll out will be treated to an array of extras that put the spotlight on the many citizens of Zootopia. From deleted scenes to featurettes, fans will get the red carpet treatment and explore everything the creative team has to offer. Additionally, music superstar and Zootopia’s own Gazelle, Shakira, takes center stage to explore her musical leanings that helped inspire the movie’s biggest hit. Should the limited edition 4K Steelbook be in your future, you’ll be happy to know that it comes with an up-close-and-personal look at the city’s newest resident — Gary De’Snake . ‘Zootopia 2’s Smashing Success Raking in a staggering $1.7 billion at the global box office, Zootopia 2 quickly earned the bragging rights of being the highest-grossing animated Motion Picture Association release of all time. Beyond that, it broke through the top ten bubble, becoming the ninth-biggest earner of both live-action and animated films in history. With numerous positive reviews to back it up, including a Rotten Tomatoes 96% audience score, it’s easy to understand why the movie’s popularity has only grown in the two months since it first darted into cinemas.
