Candidates for Campton Hills village president talk zoning, road maintenance, parking flap dhelection
The two candidates running for Campton Hills village president say they are committed to maintaining the semirural nature of the village and continuing to operate it without a property tax. Challenger Barbara Wojnicki served on the Kane County Board for 24 years until losing in the Republican primary in 2022.
Wojnicki said the village should have used American Rescue Plan Act COVID-19 relief money to do the work last year. by signing up you agree to our terms of service "An employee goes to lunch, they lose a spot," he said. Tyrrell noted that there is a 100-space lot behind the restaurant.
Tyrrell said the revamp was overdue because when the village was founded in 2007 it adopted the Kane County zoning code. The county code had not been updated since the mid-1970s, he said.
