” Saldaña’s comments come after Gascón – who made history last month as the first openly transgender actress nominated for an Oscar in an acting category – apologized for her comments in an interview with CNN en Español’s Juan Carlos Arciniegas last weekend, but said she “cannot step down” from the Oscars race. “I have not committed any crime nor have I harmed anyone,” Gascón told CNN.
