Fifa takes a hard line against government interference in football association affairs and warned Zimbabwe’s Sports and Recreation Commission the country would be suspended from all football activity unless they stepped back. Zimbabwe have qualified for the past two Cup of Nations finals and were as a potential growing force in African football, given an abundance of talent, many of whom play in SA.
