The visit to the Scranton Army Ammunition Plant follows intense diplomatic efforts by Ukraine to secure long-range missile systems from the US, despite Russia's warnings of direct conflict with NATO.

He also will address the U.N. General Assembly annual gathering in New York and travel to Washington for talks on Thursday with President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
