Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes U.S. President-elect Donald Trump can be 'decisive' in Ukraine 's war with Russia , according to an interview with Ukrainian television. Zelenskyy said, 'Trump can be decisive. For us, this is the most important thing.' He added that Trump is capable of 'stopping' Russia n President Vladimir Putin, 'or, to put it more fairly, help us stop Putin.
' Zelenskyy also noted that he would like Trump’s plan to be 'aligned' with Ukraine’s 'view,' saying 'it cannot be otherwise. We are Ukraine, and it’s our independence, our land and our future.' Last month, Trump’s plan for ending the war involved ceding large parts of Ukraine to Russia for the 'foreseeable future.' It also included pausing the transfer of military aid to Ukraine unless the country agrees to negotiate, as well as increasing the assistance if Russia refuses to talk. The Sun quoted Zelenskyy as saying any security guarantees without the U.S. are weak for Ukraine. Russia has taken parts of several eastern Ukrainian provinces. Zelenskyy said, 'They are putting pressure on our boys, who are exhausted, and that is a fact. We will do everything to at least stabilize the front in January.
