How much do I love Zara? Let me count the ways. It’s hard not to want everything on the website as it’s all shot so beautifully and feels so fresh and new. Unexpected colours, bold details, directional cuts.
In amongst all this bounty, it’s hard to find the pieces with guaranteed longevity and versatility. I generally steer away from too much pattern, but polka dots are a classic that are having a moment and I think you could style this balloon skort with a crisp white shirt or a tee and black blazer to give it a sophisticated spin. Ditto these wide leg trousers, which balanced with a knitted tank or turtleneck, bring just the right amount of new season energy.Red’s fashion director Oonagh always suggests buying a cheaper pair of sunglasses in a new style before you invest in the designer version – these aviator shields are the pair I have my eye on for the season ahead. She was also the one who first discovered these brilliant toe ring sandals, which have returned this spring after being a sell-out last year.
