Nearly 72 hours after Zambia took to the polls in the ninth presidential elections since the dawn of multi-party politics 30 years ago, Hakainde Hichilema, the opposition leader of the United Party for National Development , has opened a wide lead ahead of the incumbent, President Edgar Lungu.

However, Bwalya has urged Zambians to remain calm while expressing haste for the ECZ to conclude the process by no later than 5am on Monday, as they promised to deliver the election results within 72 hours from the time polls closed.
