Zambia forward Barbra Banda has recently secured a groundbreaking move to soccer club Orlando Pride in the NWSL.
The 23-year-old, previously with Chinese club Shanghai Shengli, completed the switch to the National Women’s Soccer League for a staggering $740,000 .
Banda, signing a lucrative four-year deal with Orlando Pride, is set to become one of the highest-paid players in the NWSL.Additionally, the club successfully negotiated a sell-on clause, ensuring they benefit from any potential future transfers involving the prolific forward. Recognising the competitiveness of the NWSL, she added, “The NWSL is one of the most competitive and strongest leagues in the world, so it’s very humbling to get a chance to play in it.”
Mark Wilf, the owner and chairman of Pride, spoke on the transfer and emphasised the club’s commitment to building a team that can contend for the Championship.
