We chat with ZacharyLevi about Billy's struggles in ShazamFuryoftheGods, his hopes for a future in the DCU, and his ideal BraveandtheBold Shazam team up:
Shazam! Fury of the Gods picks up years after the first film, with Billy now almost 18 years old. He and his foster family have continued to fight crime with varying degrees of success, but a new threat appears that will test them like never before. The Daughters of Atlas target Billy and his family because of their powers and a potentially world-ending weapon. Now, it's up to the Shazam family to stop them and save the world.
Zachary Levi: The first moment he was 14-15, now he's 17 turning 18. It's a three-year gap, and for young kids in general, that's a big gap. [They] change a lot in that time, so I was just trying to tap into that. Zachary Levi: I think that because he's afraid of losing the family, as the superhero and leader of the super family, that's all spilling off into that. He's trying to keep everybody together; we've got to work together. But that's also because he really genuinely wants to be a well-oiled machine of a super team also. I think both those things are kind of colliding in that.
There's gonna be a Batman: The Brave and the Bold film coming out, where Batman is teaming up with his son Damian. If there was a Shazam: The Brave and the Bold, who would you like to see him team up with?
