Yu Darvish pitched six shutout innings and Ha-Seong Kim capped a four-run second with a two-run single as the San Diego Padres shut out the visiting Texas Rangers, 4-0.
The Padres' second win of the series was their 10th straight over the Rangers dating back to the 2018 season -- matching the longest winning streak against a single opponent in franchise history.Texas mounted threats in each of the first two innings.
Leody Taveras doubled to open the second and moved to third on Josh H. Smith's two-out single after Darvish had struck out Mitch Garver and Sam Huff. But with runners at second and third, Darvish threw an inning-ending third strike past Semien. Manny Machado drew a walk to open the inning and moved to second on a Xander Bogaerts single. Jake Cronenworth then singled to load the bases. Machado scored on Luis Campusano's single with the bases remaining loaded. Gary Sanchez then drew a walk to force in Bogaerts to make it 2-0.
