YouTube Music is currently experimenting with a novel feature, enabling users to utilise AI for playlist generation. According to a statement provided to The

Verge by YouTube spokesperson Jessica Gibby, Premium subscribers in the US will have the ability to craft personalised playlists by specifying their desired music preferences in detail.

As evidenced in screenshots from 9to5Google, the feature may display a chat interface where users can input a description or select prompts such as 'catchy pop choruses' or 'upbeat pop anthems.' Subsequently, it will create a playlist tailored to the user's input.

On the results page, you'll see cover art, song title, artist, album, year, and download status, along with options to “Play” the song or “Save” it to your library. Based on the information, it looks to be a relatively swift process. Once that’s done, YouTube Music will begin locating the song you're searching for and upon finding it, will include details such as the song title, artist, and album information. This feature was initially tested by the platform last year and started rolling out for Android devices in May this year.

Additionally, Youtube Music is also testing an “AI-generated conversational radio” that lets you create a custom radio by “describing exactly what they want to hear.” Beyond that, though, there’s no further information about it.
