A reader says Texas, flush with cash, needs to bolster the grid and move away from natural gas and coal and embrace solar.Re: “Solar and wind not the problem at ERCOT,” Another View, July 24:, and it wants all of us to conserve more electricity, blaming problems on lack of wind power.
Andrew Dessler, atmospheric sciences professor at Texas A&M University, wrote the ERCOT statement was intentionally misleading. a low amount of wind at this time of year is normal and there is only one way to solve the problem of Texas’ power grid — solar energy.
