Among the many environmental groups around the state that would get funding for their projects, the San Diego Rivers Conservancy would receive millions of dollars to bolster wildfire prevention while expanding workforce opportunities for disadvantaged communities.In recent years, California has taken a front-row seat to the accelerating effects of climate change. It’s left the state to fend off wildfires, droughts, floods and severe heat levels all together.
But he also cut the state’s multi-year climate budget to bridge a deficit. If voters pass Prop. 4, the new source of funding would unlock new channels for local agencies to chip away at the statewide movement.Multiple environmental protection groups, water agencies and renewable energy companies support the proposal.
