Not much has changed since the park first opened to the public in 1939.

Parking at Aquatic Park can be challenging, especially on weekends and holidays when the park is busiest. There are several parking lots located near Aquatic Park, including the Ghirardelli Square parking lot . There is also metered street parking available along Jefferson Street and Beach Street. Unfortunately, there’s no way around paying for parking here — that’s true even on Sunday, when most of San Francisco’s street parking is free in other parts of the city.
