SAN ANTONIO - As the nation gears up for another pivotal election season, there's a concerning trend emerging among young voters: fewer plan to cast their ballots compared to previous years.Michael Valdez, a student at San Antonio College, shared his perspective on the issue.

"I do see it as a concern just because of the age difference... We're part of Generation Z, but I believe, like the presidential candidates, they are in their 80s," Valdez remarked. Jon Taylor, Chair of UTSA's Department of Political Science, commented on the situation, noting that tonight's debate could potentially sway disinterested young voters by addressing critical issues like the cost of higher education and economic challenges.

Despite the decline in voter intention among the youth, Taylor emphasized that political engagement remains crucial, as political decisions ultimately impact everyone.
