The images of Cha 1 were taken using Hubble's Advanced Camera for Surveys and its Wide Field and Planetary Camera 2, or WFPC2.
The European Southern Observatory's ground-based Visible and Infrared Survey Telescope for Astronomy InfraRed CAMera also aided in observing the Cha 1 stellar nursery.
