Young Sheldon star Iain Armitage earned at least $100,000 for his role as Chase in The PAW Patrol Movie.
Young star Iain Armitage's salary for voice work in this year's PAW Patrol: The Movie has been revealed. Armitage has amassed an incredible body of work for such a young actor. The 13-year-old first rose to prominence in the hit HBO series Big Little Lies as Ziggy, the son of Shailene Woodley's character Jane Chapman. He then went on to an even bigger television hit, the Big Bang Theory prequel Young Sheldon.
One of Armitage's latest roles was in this summer's PAW Patrol: The Movie, an animated film based on the massively popular Canadian children's television program about a group of small-town first-responders who just happen to be adorable animals. In the film, Armitage played the protagonist Chase, the German shepherd police dog who is voiced by Justin Kelly on the show. The film follows Chase embracing his bravery and learning to conquer his fear of heights to save Adventure City.
PAW Patrol: The Movie was relatively low-budget for a wide release animated film so this salary is about what one might expect for voice booth work. However, it's just a drop of water in the bucket compared to what starring on a network television show has earned him. Although his salary has increased from earlier seasons of Young Sheldon, he is now earning around $50,000 per episode.
Although the film's box office was certainly a disappointment from Armitage's perspective, it did earn a $130 million take off the back of a $26 million budget. Because it did make a profit even during a rough time for pandemic box office, PAW Patrol: The Movie is getting a sequel as well as a spin-off television series. It has not been confirmed if Armitage will be returning as Chase, though it seems unlikely that he would be replaced.
