It was unclear how the child fell from the building, and the age and gender of the victim was not immediately available, police said.

A three-year-old girl fell out of the window of a sixth floor apartment building in Chelsea on Sunday morning, leaving her seriously injured, police and law enforcement sources said.

The horrifying accident happened just after 11:30 a.m. at 420 West 26th Street in NYCHA’s Chelsea Houses complex, the NYPD said. The little girl was on a bed pushed up against a window when she fell approximately 60 feet and landed on a grassy area, according to sources. She was taken to Bellevue Hospital in critical but stable condition.Five other children and three adults were in the apartment at the time, according to the sources.
