It is reported that a boy is being treated at Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children on Friday evening after a 'water incident' at Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre in Ballymoney.
Causeway Coast and Glens Councillor Darryl Wilson said the child was provided with "urgent care" upon arrival of the emergency services.Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre shared a post confirming its swimming pools were closed on the evening of August 23 due to "unforeseen circumstances".
"Upon arrival, medical teams immediately assessed the child and provided urgent care. Subsequently, the young patient was transferred by ambulance to the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children for further treatment. "I fully acknowledge the gravity of the incident at the Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre. While specific details remain undisclosed, my thoughts and those of the community and council staff are with those affected.
