JUST IN: A 4-year-old boy is dead after a hit-and-run crash in Hyde Park, Boston police say.
The Boston Police Department says a 4-year-old boy was fatally hit by a vehicle on Wood Avenue around 9:30 p.m.; the driver took offA child has died from his injuries in a hit-and-run crash Tuesday night in Boston's Hyde Park neighborhood.
In a press conference, the Boston Police Department said officers responded to Wood Avenue around 9:30 p.m. to find a boy, believed to be 4 years old, hit by a vehicle.A person suffered life-threatening injuries after being hit by a vehicle Tuesday in Boston's Hyde Park neighborhood.Sign up for NECN newsletters.
Authorities say the driver did not stop after hitting the boy. No description of the vehicle was immediately available. Anyone who saw anything is asked to call the Boston Police Department's homicide unit at 617-343-4470. Anonymous tips can also be left by calling 1-800-494-TIPS.
