Coach Hugo Broos’ Bafana went into the first of their two international matches, against Guinea on Friday, in high spirits and expected to get a favorable result before squaring off against World Champions, France, on Tuesday night. Chances were created but missed with several new faces, including Bandile Shandu, Khuliso Mudau – who displayed a Man of the Match performance on debut – and Thabang Monare, raising their hands and staking a claim to their positions in the national team.
Bafana face more experienced France who will pose a serious threat and put the South African team to a real test. If they are to fancy their chances against coach Didier Deschamps’ charges, they will have to start improving on their final touches and bury the chances they get, as they are likely not too be many. Veli Mothwa, Khuliso Mudau, Siyanda Xulu, Nkosinathi Sibisi, Terrence Mashego, Thabang Monare, Mothobi Mvala, Bandile Shandu, Lyle Foster, Keagan Dolly and Evidence Makgopa.
