You will soon be able to show your pirate pride with a new Alabama license plate. But before you conjure up ideas of walking the plate and yo, ho, ho, things aren’t quite what they seem. According to the Alabama Department of Revenue, a new license plate for the Pirate Foundation will be available Aug. 1. The plate is for theThe plate costs an additional $50 with the net proceeds going to the Foundation to fund teacher grants, fine arts programs and elementary-level literacy programs. Net proceeds from the $50 costs go the Five Points Charitable Foundation Inc. to provide educational stipends for graduating high school seniors across Alabama.
