Pierre will be taking on the role of John Stewart in DC’s new series Green Lantern. The announcement came after an intense casting process, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Green Lantern is one of James Gunn’s DCU’s top priorities and could elevate Pierre to newfound stardom. Pierre's role as John Stewart in Green Lantern isn't the first time the actor has been tapped for a superhero franchise. He was set to star alongside Mahershala Ali in Marvel’s Blade before the movie went through retooling. Pierre is also set to appear in several other projects, including Disney's Mufasa: The Lion King and Apple TV+'s drama, The Morning Show.
