Musgrave Park is expected to host 50,000 festival goers for Paniyiri, the two-day celebration of Greek culture and cuisine.

Lifelong West End resident Kos Kastrissios remembers going to Paniyiri, the annual Greek festival in South Brisbane’s Musgrave Park, when he was a kid.

“It’s all about the food, drink and dancing,” says Kastrissios, the co-chair of the volunteer organising committee.For first-timers to the festival, Kastrissios recommends sampling loukoumades and visiting the little Greek Village next to the Greek Club for souvla. “They’ve got a magnificent restaurant downstairs. It’s fantastic to be able to go and sit there if you want a nice dinner.”Paniyiri/Pixel Punk
