Mon, April 29th 2024 at 1:50 PMIn a heartwarming moment at the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium , visitors were greeted with the arrival of a charming male Asian small-clawed otter.
This adorable addition to the aquarium's family embarked on a remarkable journey, beginning from the distant shores of Ocean Park Hong Kong, and finding temporary refuge at the North Carolina Aquarium since January 2024, before finally settling into his new home in Utah. To celebrate the otter's long journey and his permanent residence in Utah, Utah Ford Stores has established the "Paws-itive Adventures" scholarship fund. This initiative aims to provide children in the community with the opportunity to attend Aquarium school break camps, where they can immerse themselves in the wonders of nature, learn about various species, and develop a deeper appreciation for wildlife conservation.
However, there's one missing piece to complete this heartwarming tale – the otter needs a name! The Loveland Living Planet Aquarium invites the public to participate in this exciting naming contest.By submitting a name through the aquarium's website, participants not only contribute to the otter's identity but also stand a chance to win Aquarium passes and a Penguin Encounter, courtesy of Utah Ford Stores.
After the submission process, the top three names will be selected, and the public will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite. Voting will culminate on May 11th, coinciding with the Aquarium's Asian American Pacific Islander festival, generously sponsored by Ford.
