Customers have queued for more than 18 hours at Popeyes before to bag free sandwiches and breakfast muffins
This week, American fried chicken restaurant, Popeyes, officially opens the doors to its first restaurant in Manchester. The chicken spot, which is known to attract massive queues will be located at One Piccadilly Gardens and launches at 11am on Thursday
To celebrate it's Manchester launch, it will be pulling out all the stops to showcase its Southern hospitality, including rolling out an orange carpet, giving away hundreds of its popular chicken sandwiches and hosting a live Mardi Gras style band, the Brass Funkeys, to bring the sound of New Orleans to Manchester.
The new city centre spot can seat up to 67 people for dine in, with 32 seats outside, and takeaway also available. Menus will include classics like the chicken sandwich with signature 12-hour marinated chicken, original Southern biscuits and gravy. As well as sandwiches, wraps, Louisiana chicken, tenders, and hot wings, Popeye's is well known for its side including mac & cheese, mash and Cajun gravy and original biscuit.
