Yariel Fuentes-Reyes, 18, was found driving a white Camaro that police say was stolen from a Lancaster County auto dealer a few hours earlier on May 29.YORK, Pa. — A York County man was arrested last week after leading police on a brief vehicle chase in a suspected stolen car, according to State Police.from a Lancaster County auto dealership when he was seen driving south on Memory Lane in York County by a State Police trooper at 3:51 a.m. on May 29.

The Camaro and a similar vehicle were taken from the Manheim Auto Auction a few hours earlier, and the suspects eluded police after a short vehicle chase on Route 72 in Lancaster County, according to police. The chase was stopped due to concerns for public safety, but authorities in other jurisdictions were told to be on the lookout for the suspected stolen vehicles.

Shortly before 4 a.m., State Police were canvassing the area of Haines Road and East Market Street in Springettsbury Township when they observed a white Camaro and another vehicle matching the description of the cars stolen from the Auto Auction, the complaint states. When the drivers saw the police vehicle, they immediately accelerated, and a vehicle chase ensued, according to police. Fuentes-Reyes, who was driving the Camaro, fled from his vehicle on foot after striking a curb shortly after the vehicle chase began, police said. He was found attempting to hide under a nearby trailer and was taken into custody.
