A York County man is facing serious charges after police seized over 200 pounds of marijuana and thousands of dollars of cash during a search warrant.According to York City Police, the case was brought thanks to "a several-month investigation sparked by a traffic stop.
" Officers Hoover and Benton with the Violence Intervention Unit began to piece information together, follow up on leads, and conduct search warrants over the last several weeks following the aforementioned traffic stop. These efforts led to Officer Casteel "putting the last pieces of information together," thus making sure the department was "ready to act." On Friday, Oct. 27, the VIU, with assistance from York County Drug Task Force and US Marshalls, executed two search warrants. "This well-coordinated operation yielded a significant seizure, including approximately $8,500 in cash and approximately 200 pounds of marijuana, with an estimated wholesale street value of $250,000," the department said.
