People in the City of York and North Yorkshire unitary authority areas, such as Harrogate, Scarborough and Selby, have voted for their new mayor
People across parts of Yorkshire have cast their vote in the first York and North Yorkshire mayoral elections.
Mayors are typically elected for a period of four years, with no limit to the number of terms served. The candidates who stood in this year's mayoral election were Felicity Cunliffe-Lister , Keane Duncan , Kevin Foster , Paul Haslam , David Skaith and Keith Tordoff .The mayor of York and North Yorkshire has powers and responsibilities in relation to transport, economic development, provision of skills training and housing.
Polls closed at 10pm on Thursday, May 2 with the count taking place on Friday, May 3. The results will be shown below when they have been announced after 3pm on Friday. Mayoral elections took place in East Midland, Greater Manchester, Liverpool City Region, North East, London, West Midlands, West Yorkshire and Salford.
