Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, who was present at the announcement, highlighted the ongoing challenges faced by the childcare sector in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. 'Five years after the COVID pandemic, the child care sector is still struggling to rebuild,' she stated. 'While we've seen some steady growth over the past few years, the truth is we're going to need to do a lot more to support the child care workforce moving forward and expand access to child care facilities to underserved parts of our state.'
