Scattered rain showers are expected to start over Ventura County and other parts of the region around 11 a.m. Monday, with some snow in the grapevine.
However, Monday's storm will be weaker and faster moving than the one that created a wet and snowy Christmas Day.A December storm between Christmas and New Year's 2021 is set to bring rain and snow to SoCal.Sunday will stay dry and sunny after the Christmas downpour. Clouds will start to gather overnight.
Snow showers will linger in the mountains, but skies will be entirely clear in other places by 11 p.m. heading into the overnight period. Icy conditions will make driving in the mountains more hazardous, and"you will definitely need chains," Biggar added.These are the best times to travel through the grapevine to avoid snow and icy conditions during Monday's storm.
