The first images of adult Van in Yellowjackets season 2 have been revealed, showing off Lauren Ambrose's take on the character (facial scars from that wolf attack included).
A new set of first-look images from Yellowjackets season 2 reveals the adult Van. The series, which premiered on Showtime last year, takes place in two different timelines following a group of teenagers attempting to survive the Canadian winter after crash landing in the wilderness in 1996. The show splits its time between this timeline and that of the present where it explores the lives of the surviving members of the eponymous soccer team.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Today, EW shared a gallery of first-look images revealing Lauren Ambrose as the grown-up Van. In at least two of the three images, she appears to be as well-adjusted an adult as possible despite bearing visible scars from a harrowing wolf attack in season 1. She appears to be working in an eclectic gallery or antique shop packed with retro items, particularly a set of figures shaped like robots.
It was in 2001 that Ambrose first showed an inkling of the darker tone that would eventually lead to her role in Yellowjackets. That was when she first appeared as Claire Fisher in the HBO series Six Feet Under, a role she would go on to reprise in every one of the show's 63 episodes. The series followed the ways that the bodies handled by a funeral home sparked various conversations and tensions in the overarching family drama.
Since Six Feet Under ended in 2005, Ambrose has continued to dabble with darker material periodically throughout her career. Although she can also be seen in comedies like Wanderlust and family films including Where the Wild Things Are, her experience in the genre has grown, especially in recent years. Recently, she has held roles in the reboot of The X-Files and the M. Night Shyamalan Apple TV+ series Servant, which is premiering its fourth and final season in January.
