Produced by Dave Cobb, the new album captures the band's volatile mix of classic influences.

The Red Clay Strays album "Made By These Moments" was set for release on July 26, 2024. From left on the album cover are guitarist Zach Rishel, bassist Andy Bishop, singer Brandon Coleman, guitarist Drew Nix and drummer John Hall.;” a web series shot performance videos for both songs at Callaghan’s Irish Social Club. The band released an official video for “Devil in My Ear” in June. More recently a live version of “Ramblin’” was showcased by, along with three older songs.

Those hopes seem to have been rewarded: “Made By These Moments” brings the essence of the Red Clay Strays into the tightest focus yet. It sounds very much like the band sounds live, for example at Fortunately there’s also some fun. “Ramblin’” feels like an unabashed emulation of a Lynyrd Skynyrd fast boogie. “Wasting Time” starts with a bang and stays in the fast lane. “No One Else Like Me” is more of a slow burn, but it’s one with a considerable bit of Allman Brothers feel and it’s a fine track to hear the band’s not-so-secret weapon, drummer John Hall, doing some fun stuff in the background.

As for the Strays, they won’t be standing still. “Caddo County,” a song that isn’t on this album, is newly out on the soundtrack to the tornado-chasing flick “Twisters.” Social media chatter among fans say it isn’t featured in the film, but its inclusion still seems likely to steer some new fans strayward.
