Rapper Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, expressed gratitude to Elon Musk for allowing him to share his controversial views on X. Ye recently deactivated his account after posting antisemitic and hateful content, including declaring himself a Nazi and praising Adolf Hitler.

Ye, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West , expressed gratitude towards Elon Musk , the owner of X (formerly Twitter), for allowing him to share his controversial views on the platform. In a Sunday evening tweet, Ye stated, 'I appreciate Elon for allowing me to vent. It has been very cathartic to use the world as a sounding board.' This statement came shortly after Ye announced his intention to take a break from X following a weekend of posting antisemitic and hateful content.

The controversial rapper, who is 47 years old, deactivated his X account after making numerous incendiary statements, including declaring himself a Nazi and expressing renewed admiration for Adolf Hitler. He also called for the release of jailed music executive Sean 'Diddy' Combs and asserted his 'dominion' over his wife, Bianca Censori. Ye's history is marked by provocative and harmful pronouncements, and in recent years, he has faced intense scrutiny for his comments targeting the Jewish community, many of which he posted on X. In 2022, Ye threatened on X to initiate 'death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE,' leading to suspensions from both X and Instagram. His remarks also prompted numerous clothing companies and management firms to sever ties with him. However, both X and Instagram eventually reinstated Ye's accounts, and he continued to intensify his rhetoric. In December 2023, Ye apologized for another wave of antisemitic 'outbursts' and vowed to 'learn from this experience to ensure greater sensitivity and understanding in the future.' Despite this apology, during Super Bowl LIX on Sunday, Ye aired a cryptic commercial directing viewers to a link for his Yeezy clothing line. The website prominently features only one item: a $20 white T-shirt with a black swastika emblazoned on it. Before Ye credited Musk's platform for hosting his controversial posts, Musk himself tweeted on Sunday that Ye had been posting illicit content. Musk, who also heads the Department of Government Efficiency, seemingly found time amidst his efforts to dismantle various government agencies over the weekend to comment on Ye's online activity. Musk also exhibited flirtation with Nazi imagery earlier this year when he performed multiple right-arm salutes during an inauguration event for President Trump. 'Given what he has posted, his account is now classified as NSFW,' Musk responded to an X user who alleged Ye had posted pornography. 'You should not be seeing that anymore.' Only time will tell if this claim proves accurate
