Former TOWIE star Yazmin Oukhellou was spotted enjoying a lively evening with friend Shane Smith in Puerto Banus, Costa del Sol, showcasing her tan in a lace mini dress and sharing playful kisses. The duo started their night at an exclusive poolside club with live DJs before moving to the bustling marina and an Italian restaurant. This outing comes as Oukhellou continues to recover from multiple surgeries following a serious 2022 car accident that killed her boyfriend Jake McLean. She recently documented her recovery on Instagram, including a temporal lift, neck and jaw lift, and 360 liposuction, describing herself as swollen and sore but trusting the process. Since leaving TOWIE in 2023, Oukhellou has focused on her influencer career and beauty salon ownership, while navigating the long-term aftermath of the accident and the end of her turbulent relationship with James Lock.
Yazmin Oukhellou, the former star of The Only Way Is Essex, appeared in high spirits during a fun-filled night out on the Costa del Sol.
The 31-year-old was photographed enjoying a lively evening with her close friend and model Shane Smith. She showcased her summer tan in a tight, lace mini dress and the pair shared affectionate, playful kisses throughout the night. Their evening began at an exclusive private club where they relaxed poolside, soaking in the ambiance and dancing to live DJ performances. Afterward, they continued their celebrations in the famous Puerto Banus marina.
Looking slightly tired but cheerful, the duo wandered through the bustling waterfront, chatting and laughing before concluding their night with a meal at a local Italian restaurant. This public appearance highlights Oukhellou's ongoing recovery and return to social life after a devastating period. In July 2022, she was severely injured in a catastrophic car accident in Bodrum, Turkey. The blue Mercedes, driven by her then-boyfriend Jake McLean, plunged from a mountainous road into a ravine.
McLean died at the scene, while Oukhellou, a passenger, sustained serious injuries requiring immediate hospitalization and a long rehabilitation process. The tragedy prompted her to permanently leave the long-running ITVBe reality series TOWIE in 2023 to dedicate her time to physical and emotional healing. Oukhellou has been transparent about the extensive surgical procedures she has undergone as part of her recovery. In April, she shared a graphic Instagram post documenting her progress just three days after a major operation.
The post featured a selfie with a visibly bruised and bandaged face, her body compressed in a medical vest. In the caption, she detailed that the surgery included a temporal lift, a neck and jaw lift, and a full 360 liposuction. She described her state as swollen, bruised, and sore but emphasized that she was trusting the healing process. She expressed that while results are not instant, she is patient and confident in the eventual outcomes.
She was careful to note she was not promoting surgery but simply being honest with her followers about her personal medical journey. Since stepping away from reality television, Oukhellou has channeled her energy into entrepreneurship. She now works as a social media influencer and owns a beauty salon, focusing on building a career independent of her TOWIE fame. Her friendship with Shane Smith, evident in the playful and affectionate night out, provides a support system.
She even tagged him on Instagram during the excursion, referring to him as "my baby for life," underscoring their close bond. This recent outing to the Costa del Sol signifies a continued step forward, balancing a vibrant social life with the disciplined commitment to her arduous physical recovery and new professional ventures
