The Yankees and Rays wrap up a four-game series on Monday afternoon at Yankee Stadium.
It took Rays left fielder Randy Arozarena 33.4 seconds to get around the bases after his fourth-inning home run on Sunday at Yankee Stadium.
“It’s a new world, so I look away sometimes,” Boone said. “Guys are going to do what they do and it’s on us, each individual, to handle themselves how you want. If somebody doesn’t like it, it’s on us to keep them in the ballpark.”Yankees captain Aaron Judge, who usually moves as a good pace on his home run trots, took exception to Sunday’s antics by the Rays, which included Arozarena coming to a complete stop and posing when he reached third base after his home run off Marcus Stroman.
Verdugo’s average home run trot is 28 seconds, slowest on the team and ninth slowest in the majors. Soto’s average is 26.9 seconds, second slowest on the Yankees and 25th slowest in the majors.
