The Yankees shut out the Blue Jays 6-0 on Wednesday night in Toronto.
They’re baseball super heroes fighting a different kind of crime this season, one that will have their usual superpower ballclub home for October.
Making his final start, Cole added to his American League Cy Young resume with maybe the best start of his sensational season, a two-hit, complete-game shutout. In Cole’s last start, only two Blue Jays reached base. Brandon Belt led off the second with a double, then made it a two-hit game with a two-out single in the seventh off Cole, who struck out five and didn’t walk anyone.
