Dominguez, who was off to a blazing start in pinstripes, was diagnosed with a torn UCL last weekend.
The Yankees top prospect, who impressed during an eight-game cameo earlier this month before finding out he had torn his UCL, will undergo the right elbow surgery on Wednesday, manager Aaron Boone said Thursday.

Dominguez had been gathering opinions from doctors over the last few days before settling on Tommy John. With Dominguez unlikely to be available to them until June or July, the Yankees will likely need to add at least a stop gap center fielder this offseason.
