The Yankees announced a slew of roster moves that included their infield taking an expected hit and their bullpen absorbing an unexpected setback.
Before Saturday’s game against the Orioles, the Yankees officially moved Josh Donaldson to the 10-day injured list with a hamstring strain —— and lost Jonathan Loaisiga to the 15-day injured list with right elbow inflammation.
The roster machinations made space for the Yankees to recall Saturday starter Jhony Brito from Triple-A Scranton and bring up outfielder Willie Calhoun, who had not previously been on the 40-man roster. “There’s enough in [his right hamstring] that it might knock him down for four or five days,” Boone said. “We’re going to likely be cautious.”Loaisiga’s IL stint is backdated to April 6.
