The Yankees ace and member of the MLBPA executive subcommittee weighed in on the league’s lockout ahead of spring training’s expected delay.

The MLB players union held a meeting in Arizona on Tuesday, which, according to Yankees ace Gerrit Cole, over 100 players attended.

Cole — part of the MLBPA's executive subcommittee — tweeted"solidarity is high" among the union, and the players"are united to protect the integrity of the game." I was at our PA meeting in AZ and it was exciting to see solidarity this high. We had 100+ players show up and are united to protect the integrity of the game.In addition to the Tuesday meeting, the union is reportedly scheduled to meet later this week in Florida.

Commissioner Rob Manfred and the owners also met in Florida this week, and Manfred is scheduled to speak to the media Thursday — when an official announcement of spring training's delay could come.
