Resend, a tool that allows developers to build, test, and send transactional emails at scale, told Insider it raised a round from and other prominent angel investors, including Figma CEO Dylan Field, Segment cofounder Calvin French-Owen, Vercel CEO Guillermo Rauch and others. The round valued the startup at $25 million post-money, two people familiar with the deal said.
Other up-and-comers like Pierre tapped into popular overarching trends like real-time collaboration, which previously propelled companies like. Sequoia partner Lauren Reeder participated in the code review startup's recent funding round, according to a Sequoia spokesperson. That fundraising was at a $30 million post-money valuation, one person familiar with the deal said. Pierre did not respond to a request for comment.
Open source business models were also a common thread for a number of YC startups. Pynecone, an open-source, Python-based framework to build and host web apps, received an investment from Lux Capital, according to three people familiar with the deal. That capital raise was at a $30 million valuation, according to two people familiar with the round. A spokesperson for Lux declined to comment, and Pynecone did not respond to a request for comment.
